I was a member of an interdisciplinary team of 27 engineering students which competed with 126 teams across the nation to build the most innovative robots. We were the finalists of the ABU National Robocon 2017. I was involved in the mechanical design and fabrication of the finalist robot.
What is Robocon?
Doordarshan organizes the national Robocon event every year.
In the competition, robots compete to complete a task within a set period of time.
The rule-book is released by the host country a year prior to the actual 3-day event.
The best engineering institutes across the country work round the year to compete with each other for the honor of representing India at the international competition.
The contest aims to help advance engineering technologies in the country.

3-wheel omni drive
Pitch & Roll control of the projectile-launching platform
Unique projectile landing mechanism (Only team to land multiple projectiles at a time)

My Contribution
Conceptualized, designed and fabricated the projectile launching mechanism. Modeling was done in SOLIDWORKS.
Rigorously tested this mechanism and made the necessary modifications to make it as precise as possible.
As a member of the pit-crew, was responsible for performing regular predefined checks, servicing the robot and thus ensuring the smooth functioning of the the mechanical systems.
